H. E. Reem Ebrahim Al Hashimy, Minister of State for International Cooperation, UAE, and Director General, Expo 2020 Dubai

Reem Al Hashimy has been the UAE’s minister for international cooperation since 2016. Within the ministry of foreign affairs she is responsible for the UAE’s bilateral relations with sub-Saharan African countries, India, Pakistan and the Small Island Developing States. Prior to her current position, Ms Hashimy served as commercial attaché, and subsequently deputy chief, of the UAE’s embassy to the USA. She is managing director of the Dubai Expo 2020 Higher Committee and director general of the Dubai Expo 2020 Bureau. She was formerly chair of the Federal Competitiveness and Statistics Authority and chairs Dubai Cares, a philanthropic organisation working to improves access to primary education in developing countries.
